NCSAB AAL Recommendations

Recommendations of the North Carolina Science Advisory Board on Toxic Air Pollutants (NCSAB)

The following recommendations for Acceptable Ambient Levels (AALs) for toxic air pollutants are generally based on risk assessments conducted by the NCSAB.

  • Recommendations designated as "draft" are posted for a preliminary 30-day public comment period prior to being forwarded to the Rules division. The purpose of this public comment period is to solicit comments on the scientific basis of the recommendation; therefore only comments relating to the scientific rationale and method of the recommendation will be addressed. Comments must be submitted in writing before the closing date and time to the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Air Quality contact listed below.
     
  • Recommendations designated as "pending" have been forwarded to the designated agency or regulatory body for further action.
     
  • Recommendations designated as "final" have been adopted.
