Woodlake Dam

Moore County Superior Court Judge James W. Webb on March 15, 2017 signed a consent judgment ordering Woodlake CC Corporation, the owners of Woodlake Dam, to breach the impoundment due to damage that occurred during Hurricane Matthew. The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality sought the court order to ensure the protection of downstream communities from potential flooding.
