MEDIA ADVISORY: State Energy Policy Council to meet Thursday

RALEIGH

The state Energy Policy Council will meet Thursday in Raleigh to hear presentations on North Carolina’s preparedness for potential disruption of the state’s electric power infrastructure and modern technologies available to improve the infrastructure.

The council will meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the N.C. Department of Administration building at 116 West Jones St. The meeting will be held in room 5034, which is the Office of State Management and Budget Commission’s conference room.

The N.C. Energy Policy Council advises and makes recommendations to the governor and the General Assembly on domestic energy exploration and development that includes strategies to promote economic growth and protect the environment. It also serves as the central energy policy planning body for the state. The council is housed in the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality.
