State Water Infrastructure Authority announces funded projects

The State Water Infrastructure Authority has approved more than $240 million in loans and grants for 127 projects statewide, all aimed at improving or replacing North Carolina water and wastewater infrastructure. Funding for this round is awarded through the Community Development Block Grant-Infrastructure program, the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loan program, Drinking Water State Reserve program, Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan program, and the Wastewater State Reserve program, all administered through the Division of Water Infrastructure.

State to host public hearings on Atlantic Coast Pipeline project

Officials with the N.C. Division of Water Resources will host two public hearings to obtain community feedback on the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, LLC’s application for a state water quality certification and buffer authorization as required by the federal Clean Water Act and state riparian buffer rules.

State’s water and wastewater infrastructure plan to be presented Wednesday in Greensboro

North Carolina’s new statewide water and wastewater infrastructure plan will be presented at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday during the opening session of the 2017 North Carolina Rural Water Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition in Greensboro.

The conference will be held at the Sheraton Four Seasons, 3121 Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro. “North Carolina’s Statewide Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Master Plan” helps cities and towns better prepare for their water and wastewater utility needs.

Regan to speak at Oxford event announcing statewide plan

The head of the state Department of Environmental Quality will be in Oxford today to announce the roll out of a statewide plan detailing how cities and towns can better prepare for their water and wastewater infrastructure needs.
