The N.C. Environmental Management Commission (EMC) will meet September 11-12 at the Archdale Building, 512 N. Salisbury Street in Raleigh. Committees of the commission will meet Wednesday, September 11, with the full commission meeting Thursday, September 12. All of the meetings will be held in the Ground Floor Hearing Room.
Topics to be discussed include a request for approval of hearing officer’s reports on amendments to solid waste compost and medical waste management rules, a request for approval on proposed amendments to the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico nutrient strategy rules, and a request for approval to send the 2019 Basinwide Water Management Planning Report to the Environmental Review Commission. The Environmental Management Commission is responsible for adopting rules for the protection, preservation and enhancement of the state’s air, land and water resources. The commission oversees and adopts rules for several divisions of the Department of Environmental Quality, including the divisions of Air Quality; Energy, Mineral and Land Resources; Waste Management and Water Resources.
