The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Air Quality hereby gives notice that the following facility has applied for a permit to construct and operate a new semiconductor manufacturing facility at the following location.

Wolfspeed, Inc.
Siler City Factory
1000 Carolina Core Parkway
Siler City, NC 27344
Chatham County

This facility's application for the proposed facility was reviewed by the DAQ to determine compliance with the requirements of the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission air pollution regulations. This notice serves as a notice of opportunity for public comment for this proposal. The public comment period begins on April 13, 2023 and will run through May 28, 2023.

Interested persons are invited to review these materials and make comments until 5 p.m. on May 28, 2023. Written comments may be submitted during the public comment period via email at the following address: daq.publiccomments@ncdenr.gov. Please type "Wolfspeed.22A" in the subject line. After weighing relevant comments received and other available information on the project, the DAQ will act on the Wolfspeed, Inc. - Siler City Factory application.
