The Highlands Falls Community Association has applied for renewal of NPDES permit NC0051381 for the Highlands Falls Country Club extended aeration WWTP in Macon County.This permitted facility discharges treated domestic wastewater to Saltrock Branch in the Little Tennessee River Basin. Currently, BOD, TSS, total residual chlorine, ammonia nitrogen are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the watershed.
