The Town of Elk Park applied to renew NPDES permit for their WWTP [NC0079561], 576 Elk River Road, Avery County, discharging treated domestic wastewater to Little Elk Creek, Watauga River Basin. Currently Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Fecal Coliform, Ammonia Nitrogen, Total Residual Chlorine (TRC) and pH are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of the Little Elk Creek.
