The Town of Jefferson (P.O. Box 67, Jefferson, NC 28640) has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0021709 for its Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Ashe County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal and industrial wastewater to Naked Creek, a class C+ water in the New River Basin. Some of the parameters in the permit are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of Naked Creek.
