NC Cities & Towns to Meet on Climate Change

Cities and towns play an important role in reducing carbon emissions. On Tuesday, several sustainability officers from North Carolina cities and towns will meet to discuss climate change and their current efforts.  From EV charging stations and LED lighting to LEED-certified buildings and emission reduction goals, the mayors will exchange ideas and share their success stories.

The Department of Environmental Quality supports these efforts and Secretary Michael S. Regan looks forward to partnering with these cities and towns as part of a statewide goal to reduce carbon pollution while propelling North Carolina into a new energy economy.  The event is hosted by the Environmental Defense Fund and is the first of a series of roundtable events all aimed at addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time.
