AMH Grant Program

AMH Grant Program

The Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service administers the Abandoned Manufactured Homes (AMH) Grant Program through the Solid Waste Management Outreach Program. The purpose of this grant program is to assist counties with implementing abandoned manufactured home clean-up programs. All state statutes relevant to the management of AMHs can be found at AMH Statutes

Only North Carolina counties are eligible for funding through the AMH grant program. The amount of funds a county is eligible for is based on the county's tier designation as determined by the N.C. Department of Commerce.

Applications for Abandoned Manufactured Home Grants are not being accepted at this time.  Available funding for FY 2017-18 has already been allocated.  Beginning in FY 2018-19, and dependent on the future availability of state funds, the AMH Grant program will likely transition to an annual competitive grant cycle that releases a Request for Proposals (RFP) in the fall and awards grants on an annual basis with funding becoming available on July 1.

Grant funding may be used to offset the cost to counties for the removal, recycling and disposal of abandoned manufactured homes.  Counties who have never participated in the AMH grant program may also apply for a one-time planning grant.
