The Division has made an attempt to post notices in the following newspapers (s): Cherokee Scout

Cherokee County Schools has applied for renewal of NPDES permit NC0035386 for the Hiwassee Dam School  WWTP. This permitted facility discharges treated wastewater into Thompson Branch in the Hiwassee River Basin. Currently, ammonia-nitrogen and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the watershed.
