Notice of Federal Consistency Review for the Reissuance of Department of the Army Nationwide Permits

The N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management (DCM) hereby gives notice that public review and comment is invited on a proposed federal action.

The US Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers (USACE), is proposing the reissuance of the Nationwide Permits (NWPs) including Regional Conditions submitted by the USACE Wilmington District. This current reauthorization includes modifications, two new NWPs, one new general condition, and five new definitions. A more thorough description of the proposed NWPs and Regional Conditions may be examined or copied at DCM’s office in Morehead City or on the division’s website at https://deq.nc.gov/event/notice-federal-consistency-review-XXXXX.

DCM is evaluating whether the proposed federal action is consistent with the enforceable policies of the State’s Coastal Management Program. To assist in this evaluation, DCM is inviting the public to offer comments on the consistency of the proposed project with the State’s enforceable policies.

Comments will be considered in developing the state’s consistency response. Notice of the decision regarding this matter will be provided upon request.
