Notice of Intent to Issue a NPDES Wastewater Permit NC0030716 Central Johnston County Regional WWTP & 210 WWTF The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted 30 days after the publish date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the above address. Interested persons may visit the DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604 to review the information on file. Johnston County [PO Box 2263, Smithfield, NC 27577] has requested modification of NPDES permit NC0030716 for its Central Johnston County Wastewater Treatment Plant and 210 Wastewater Treatment Facility, located in Johnston County. This permit modification is for the expansion of the combined flow discharged from the two facilities as well as revision of the permitted Total Nitrogen loading limitation to reflect the inclusion of nutrient offset credits acquired from Restoration Systems, LLC. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal wastewater to the Neuse River, a class WS-V;NSW water in the Neuse River Basin. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of the Neuse River. (Public Notice will run in The News and Observer on 7/12/24.)
