N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT NC0089974

Public comment or objection to the draft modification is invited. All comments received by November 15, 2021 will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.

PERMIT APPLICATION

Ely Lilly and Company, 59 Moore Dr., Durham, N.C., has applied for a new NPDES wastewater permit (NC0089974) for its RTP facility in Durham County. The facility discharges cooling water to unnamed tributary to Northeast Creek in the Cape Fear River basin. No parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Cape Fear River basin. The location of Outfall 001 is: Latitude: 35º 56’ 6.59"; Longitude: 78º 52’ 28.11".
