Section 40101d – Preventing Outages And Enhancing The Resilience Of The Electric Grid - Resilience Of The Electric Grid Formula Grants For States and Tribes

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's State Energy Office is seeking proposals for the award of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office and supported by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act (IIJA), Section 40101d – Preventing Outages And Enhancing The Resilience Of The Electric Grid - Resilience Of The Electric Grid Formula Grants For States and Tribes. 

Approximately $18.4 million is available, with $5.7 million set aside for small utilities.  Grants provide non-competitive funding to states (including U.S. Territories) and Indian tribes to improve the resilience of their electric grids. Administered by the National Energy Technology Laboratory and falling under BIL provision 40101(d), the program is designed to strengthen and modernize America’s power grid against wildfires, extreme weather, and other natural disasters which are exacerbated by the climate crisis.

Proposals will be accepted until Monday, July 29, 2024 (extended as of 5/20/2024).
