Tuckaseigee Water and Sewer Authority (TWSA) [1246 West Main Street, Sylva, NC 28779] has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0039578 for its TWSA Plant #1, located in Jackson County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal wastewater to the Tuckasegee River, a class C-Tr water in the Little Tennessee River Basin. Currently, ammonia, fecal coliform and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of the Tuckasegee River.
