State Water Infrastructure Authority to meet Wednesday in Raleigh

The State Water Infrastructure Authority will conduct a meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center, 4021 Carya Drive, Raleigh.

Tomorrow’s meeting is open to the public, with an opportunity for informal public comments.

Items on the agenda include:

  • 2017 Intended Use Plans for Clean Water State Revolving Fund and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Programs.
  • Kara Millonzi, associate professor of Public Law and Government at the University of North Carolina School of Government. Millonzi will present “Merger/Regionalization Operating Structures in North Carolina.”
  • Troubled System Protocol update.

Times indicated on the agenda are guidelines. The authority is an independent body with primary responsibility for awarding federal and state funding for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Other responsibilities include developing a state water infrastructure master plan, recommending ways to maximize the use of available loan and grant funding resources, and examining best and emerging practices.
