The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) will host a public hearing on Monday, June 21 on a draft permit modification for the Duke Energy Belews Creek Steam Station.

RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Waste Management (DWM) will host a public hearing on Tuesday, June 15, on a draft solid waste permit for the expansion of the existing lined-landfill at the Roxboro Steam Electric Plant. The draft permit will include Duke Energy’s construction and operation of a landfill expansion for the disposal of excavated coal ash at the Roxboro facility. Members of the public are invited to attend the public hearing online or by phone and provide their comments on the proposed permit.

The N.C. Climate Change Interagency Council will hold an online meeting on May 26 to discuss state building energy consumption and the agency resilience strategy reports.

The Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) Division of Water Resources will conduct an online public hearing July 20, 2021, on proposed revisions to the 15A NCAC 02B .0200 and .0300 Surface Water Quality Standards and Classifications.

The Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources (DEMLR) plans to hold a public hearing on the Parker Mine application for Mining Permit No. 84-06 (Pending). The application is for a proposed gold, clay, quartz, and granite mining operation in Stanly County.
