State Water Infrastructure Authority to meet July 19 in Raleigh

The State Water Infrastructure Authority will conduct a meeting at 9 a.m. July 19 at the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center, 4021 Carya Drive, Raleigh.

The meeting is open to the public, with an opportunity for informal public comments.

Items on the agenda include:

  • Presentation by Jeff Hughes, director of the Environmental Finance Center at UNC-Chapel Hill
  • Funding decisions for April 28, 2017 funding round
  • Fair Bluff Assessment Initiative (hurricane funding)

Times indicated on the agenda are guidelines. The authority is an independent body with primary responsibility for awarding federal and state funding for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Other responsibilities include developing a state water infrastructure master plan, recommending ways to maximize the use of available loan and grant funding resources, and examining best and emerging practices.
