The Town of Burnsville (P.O. Box 97, Burnsville, NC 28714) has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0020290 for the Burnsville WWTP in Yancey County. This permitted facility discharges 0.8 MGD treated wastewater to the Cane River in the French Broad River Basin. Currently some parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of the Cane River.
