Public Comment: Striped Mullet FMP Amendment 1 Supplement A
The DEQ Secretary has determined it is in the long-term interest of the striped mullet stock to develop temporary management through a Supplement. The Division developed the Striped Mullet Fishery Management Plan Amendment 1 Supplement A and presented it to the Marine Fisheries Commission at its November 2022 business meeting. Upon review, the Commission selected Option 2: a season closure from November 7 – December 31 as its preferred management option.

The public is able comment on Supplement A to the Striped Mullet FMP Amendment 1 from December 19, 2022 – January 19, 2023. The Division will receive public comment online through the form below or written comment mailed to Draft Striped Mullet Supplement A, P.O. Box 769, Morehead City, NC. 28557. Comment must be received by 5 p.m. on January 19, 2023.
