Water Systems with Approved Standard Specifications
Many water systems owned by units of local government have standard specifications for water main extensions. Some of these standard specifications have been reviewed and approved by the Public Water Supply Section. If a water system has approved standard specifications, water main extensions submitted to the Public Water Supply Section may refer to those previously approved specifications. Otherwise, specifications must be submitted with every project.
Water systems wishing to submit standard specifications for review can receive more information by emailing the Public Water Supply Section Plan Review Unit at pwssection.planreview@deq.nc.gov. A $150 fee will be charged for review.
