The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted 30 days after the publish date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. The Iredell-Statesville Schools requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0037371 for the North Iredell High School WWTP (156 Raider Rd, Olin) in Iredell County. This permitted facility discharges treated wastewater to Patterson Creek in the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin. Currently fecal coliform and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin.(Public Notice will run in the Statesville Record and Landmark on 3/7/24.)

This facility discharges into Deep River (Randleman Lake) in the Cape Fear River Basin. Currently, total residual chlorine (TRC) is water quality limited. The Town of Ahoskie [PO Box 767, Ahoskie, NC 27910] has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0088561 for its Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Hertford County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal wastewater to Ahoskie Creek, a class B water in the Chowan River Basin. Currently BOD, ammonia, fecal coliform, TSS, dissolved oxygen, pH, total residual chlorine, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus are water quality limited. Currently, Total Residual Chlorine and Total Copper are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of the receiving stream. The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission will meet in the Ground Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building in Raleigh on March 13 and 14. Members of the public may attend in-person or join the meeting by computer or phone.

The N.C. Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) Science Panel is scheduled to meet via web conference on March 15 at 10 a.m. to continue its review of Inlet Hazard Area boundaries and recent studies and data on sea level rise. The public may listen to the meeting by computer or phone.
