Notice of Intent to Issue a NPDES Wastewater Permit NC0042439 Westside Swim & Racquet Club WWTP The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publish date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the above address. Interested persons may visit the DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604 to review the information on file. Westside Swim & Racquet Club applied to renew NPDES permit NC0042439 for Westside Swim & Racquet Club WWTP (630 Neel Road, Salisbury) in Rowan County. This facility discharges to the Draft Branch in the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin. Currently ammonia nitrogen, fecal coliform, and total residual chlorine (TRC) are water quality limited. State and local leaders gathered today at Lincoln Heights Environmental Connections Magnet Elementary School to celebrate Earth Day with students and release the state’s new K-12 Environmental Literacy

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management (DCM) invites communities to apply through the end of May for Phases 3 and 4 of the N.C. Resilient Coastal Communities Program (RCCP). Phase 3 of the RCCP funds the engineering and design of a prioritized resilience project, and Phase 4 funds the implementation of a shovel-ready resilience project.

The N.C. Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) will meet April 24-25 at the Dare County Government Center, 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo. The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. on April 24 and resume at 9 a.m. on April 25. A public input and comment period is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on April 25. At the chair’s discretion, comments may be limited to 3 minutes per person. The public may attend the CRC meeting in-person or join online. The Coastal Resources Advisory Council (CRAC) will meet April 24 at 1 p.m. at the same location. This meeting will be in person only.

Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All comments received by June 3, 2024, will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.

PERMIT APPLICATION
ATI Specialty Materials, LLC, 2020 Ashcraft Avenue, Monroe, N.C., has applied for modification of its NPDES wastewater permit (NC0045993) for Monroe Facility, 2020 Ashcraft Avenue, Monroe, Union County. The facility discharges treated industrial wastewater and stormwater to Richardson Creek in the Yadkin-Pee Dee River basin. Some of the parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Yadkin-Pee Dee River basin. The location of Outfall 001 is: Latitude: 35059’05”; Longitude: 80036’30”.
