
Mr. Robert “Bob” White serves as the Chief Financial Officer at DEQ. He is responsible for leadership of the Department's budget, controller, and procurement activities. Bob previously was at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration where he served for 11 years. During his time at U.S. Commerce Bob primarily served as the Director of the Budget and Finance Division and was elevated to the position Acting Chief Financial Officer for one year where he was the direct representative to the Assistant Secretary for Economic Development, U.S. Department of Commerce, three Deputy Assistant Secretaries, and seven Senior Executive Service leaders. Prior to his time at U.S. Commerce Bob served 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
During his time in the Air Force, Bob served in a variety of command, fiscal, and leadership positions from the squadron level up to the Major Command/Secretariat level with two tours in separate commands as a Squadron Commander/Chief Financial Officer. Bob is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he participated in the U.S. Air Force ROTC program. Upon commissioning, Bob’s first duty station was at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, NC. Bob also holds a Masters degree in Business Management from Regent University and a Masters of Logistics Management from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology.
