North Carolina Coastal Management Program Routine Program Change Notice of Approval

PUBLIC & INTERESTED PARTIES NOTICE

North Carolina Coastal Management Program Routine Program Change Notice of Approval

The North Carolina Coastal Management Program (NCCMP) submitted a proposed program change to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office for Coastal Management (OCM) and issued a public notice of the submission on July 12, 2016 that described the nature of the program change.

The program change adds “wind energy facilities” to the other types of offshore energy activities that are regulated under the North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission’s existing Coastal Energy Policies.

By letter dated September 8, 2016, OCM approved the routine program change to the NCCMP, and these enforceable policies shall be used for federal consistency as of this date. The approved program change—including a complete list of new and amended enforceable policies—and a copy of the OCM approval letter are available on the N.C. Division of Coastal Management website, https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/coastalmanagement, by emailing Daniel.Govoni@ncdenr.gov, by visiting the NC Division of Coastal Management at 400 Commerce Ave., Morehead City, or by calling 252-808-2808.
