Purpose: Provide guidance on the procurement requirements and allowances during emergency and urgent situations, and how to document recovery needs to ensure eligibility for FEMA Public Assistance.
Who should attend: Contract/procurement managers, municipal and county administrators and managers, and other local government staff and officials navigating Disaster Recovery funding through the state and federal governments; Councils of Government, technical assistance providers, professional service consultants, and construction contractors working on and/or supporting the procurement process to perform Helene-related recovery projects.

Oct. 28, 10 - 3 p.m.: Procurement Workshop East at: the Wilson Library, 249 Nash St., Wilson NC 27893.

Workshop Purpose: to provide training and guidance on the construction procurement requirements in NCGS 143 and best practices for local government units (LGUs) before, during and after project completion
Topics will include:
Contracting methods
Federal and state requirements for construction projects
Compliance with federal and state funding
Post-construction best practices
Who should attend:
Managers and owners of drinking water and wastewater utilities with active federal and state construction funding, particularly American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and State Revolving Fund (SRF)
Contract and project managers for water and wastewater utilities, including mayors, finance officers, utility managers, public works directors, city councilors, board members, tribal council members and clerks
Consultants and technical assistance providers serving water and wastewater utilities
