Webinar:  Procurement During Disasters and Emergencies

Nov. 14, 2024, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. EST

Purpose: Provide guidance on the procurement requirements and allowances during emergency and urgent situations, and how to document recovery needs to ensure eligibility for FEMA Public Assistance.

Who should attend: Contract/procurement managers, municipal and county administrators and managers, and other local government staff and officials navigating Disaster Recovery funding through the state and federal governments; Councils of Government, technical assistance providers, professional service consultants, and construction contractors working on and/or supporting the procurement process to perform Helene-related recovery projects.

 

Workshop: Procurement Regulations and Processes (Fall 2024)

  • Jointly offered by NC Department of Environmental Quality and UNC School of Government Environmental Finance Center
  • Workshop is offered in-person and virtually, via Webex

Oct. 28, 10 - 3 p.m.: Procurement Workshop East at: the Wilson Library, 249 Nash St., Wilson NC 27893. 

No cost to attend the workshop. 

Workshop Purpose: to provide training and guidance on the construction procurement requirements in NCGS 143 and best practices for local government units (LGUs) before, during and after project completion

Topics will include:

  • Contracting methods

  • Federal and state requirements for construction projects

  • Compliance with federal and state funding

  • Post-construction best practices

Who should attend:

  • Managers and owners of drinking water and wastewater utilities with active federal and state construction funding, particularly American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and State Revolving Fund (SRF)

  • Contract and project managers for water and wastewater utilities, including mayors, finance officers, utility managers, public works directors, city councilors, board members, tribal council members and clerks

  • Consultants and technical assistance providers serving water and wastewater utilities
