We want to hear your thoughts and ideas about North Carolina’s proposed Advanced Clean Trucks Program!
About this community meeting
On October 25, 2022, Governor Cooper signed Executive Order 271, which, along with other directives, charged DEQ to initiate the rulemaking process for the Advanced Clean Trucks rule and propose the rule for consideration to the Environmental Management Commission (EMC).
As part of this process, DEQ is collaborating with local governments, environmental justice organizations, underserved communities, automobile manufacturers, motor fleet owners, electric utilities, the North Carolina Utilities Commission, public health experts, environmental organizations, and other interested stakeholders in developing the proposed rule and the associated regulatory impact analysis.
At this in-person community stakeholder meeting and listening session in Charlotte, the public is invited to learn more about the Advanced Clean Trucks program and discuss their ideas and questions with DEQ staff. This 2-hour meeting is an opportunity for community members to provide feedback and for DEQ to gain input.
