N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT #NC0000311

Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All comments received by December 29, 2022, will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.

PERMIT APPLICATION
M-B Industries, Inc., P.O. Box 118, Rosman, N.C., has applied for renewal of its NPDES wastewater permit (NC0000311) for M-B Industries WWTP, U.S. Highway 64, Rosman, Transylvania County. The facility discharges treated industrial wastewater and treated groundwater to West Fork French Broad River in the French Broad River basin. Some of the parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the French Broad River basin. The location of Outfall 001 is: The location of Outfall 001 is: Latitude: 35⁰08’15”; Longitude: 82⁰51’00”. The location of Outfall 002 and 003 is: Latitude: 35⁰08’16”; Longitude: 82⁰50’57”.
