NOTIFICATION OF INTENT TO ISSUE AN AMENDED CONSENT ORDER

Public notice of intent to issue an amendment to a State Consent Order to the following:

The Town of Edenton (Post Office Box 300, Edenton, North Carolina 27932) has requested Special Order by Consent (SOC) WQ SOC 17 - 001 Ad. II for its Town of Edenton WWTF, a 1,076,000 gallon per day (GPD) wastewater collection, treatment, and irrigation facility operating under the authority of Non- Discharge permit WQ0004332.

The Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue the amended Order per Article 21 of Chapter 143, N.C. General Statutes, and other regulations effective June 1, 2021.

Compliance with this amended Order requires installation of necessary treatment components to the existing facility. The Town of Edenton shall comply with Non-Discharge permit limits with the exception of the interim limitations identified in the amended Order. This amended Order will expire on January 1, 2026.

Comments on the proposed amended Order received no later than May 15, 2021 will be considered in the final determination. A public meeting may be held if there is a significant degree of public interest.
