The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Solid Waste Section has prepared draft Solid Waste Permit, No. 8807-MSWLF-1990, approving a lateral expansion, Phase 7, of the existing lined Transylvania County municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill. The facility is located at 500 Howell Road, Brevard, NC. The draft permit is available for public review and comment.
Public comment period on Draft Permit 8807-MSWLF-1990 begins on June 17, 2024, and end at 5 p.m. on August 1, 2024. July 2, 2024, at 5 p.m. and will be held in the Commissioner’s Chambers in the Transylvania County Administration building located at 101 South Broad Street, Brevard, NC 28712. A public hearing is scheduled for July 2, 2024, at 5 p.m. and will be held in the Commissioner’s Chambers in the Transylvania County Administration building located at 101 South Broad Street, Brevard, NC 28712.
