Public Comment Period Ends for Enviva Sampson: Special Order by Consent

Enviva Pellets Sampson, LLC operates a wood pellets manufacturing facility in Faison, Sampson County, North Carolina. The facility is located at 5 Connector Road, Faison, North Carolina, 28341. The Company has agreed to a Special Order by Consent (SOC) with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DEQ-DAQ) for exceeding permitted emissions limits.

Interested persons are invited to review the proposed SOC and to submit written comments by email to daq.publiccomments@ncdenr.gov with “Enviva Sampson SOC” in the subject line or by mail to one of the above addresses. Any person requesting a public hearing regarding the proposed SOC should submit a written request with a statement supporting the need for such a hearing.

The request for hearing should be sent to the DAQ at one of the two above address or at the above email address. All public comments and requests for hearing must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020. The Director of the DAQ shall take final action on behalf of the EMC on Consent Orders within 60 days of the initial public notice.
