The Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources (DEMLR) invites public comment on, or objections to, the following NPDES Stormwater Individual Permit to be issued. Persons wishing to comment on or object to the draft permit may submit comments to Brianna Young (Attn: DEMLR Stormwater Program) during the public comment period. Written comments may be submitted to the address at end of this message.

All comments received through May 3, 2024, will be considered in the final determinations regarding permit issuance and permit provisions. Public comments may result in changes to the proposed permitting actions.

The following facility has applied a new NPDES permit to discharge stormwater from their location in Carteret County:

PCS Phosphate Company, Inc., 1530 NC Highway 306 South, Aurora, NC 27806 has requested renewal of permit NCS000520 for the PCS Phosphate - Morehead City Bulk Handling Facility in Carteret County. This facility discharges to the Newport River Restricted Area (Morehead City Harbor) in the White Oak River Basin.

All comments should reference permit number NCS000520.
