-

The N.C. Division of Water Resources has released the draft 2018 North Carolina 303(d) list and Integrated Report and is requesting public comment. The draft 303(d) list, draft Integrated Report, listing methodology, data, and additional information can be accessed on the website:  https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/water-resources/planning/modeling-assessment/water-quality-data-assessment/integrated-report-files.

Every two years, states are required by Section 303(d) of the federal Clean Water Act to list those streams, rivers and other bodies of water that do not meet water quality standards and require development of a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL). States must report this list to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) every even numbered year.

The draft 303(d) list and Integrated Report may be modified based on the comments received. The final North Carolina 2018 303(d) list will be posted after EPA approval.

The comment period will last for 60 days. Comments must be submitted no later than January 18, 2019 to: TMDL303dComments@ncdenr.gov.
