The Town of West Jefferson, PO Box 490, West Jefferson, NC 28694, requested renewal of permit NC0020451 for the West Jefferson WWTP in Ashe County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal wastewater to an unnamed tributary to Little Buffalo Creek in the New River Basin. Currently, BOD, ammonia, DO, copper, and fecal coliform are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of Little Buffalo Creek.
