The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission will meet July 12-13 at the NOAA/NERR Administration Building Auditorium, 101 Pivers Island in Beaufort. The meeting will begin at 1:15 p.m. on July 12 and 9 a.m. on July 13. The meeting is open to the public.
Items on the commission’s agenda include:
- Variances – The commission will hear four requests for variances from its rules.
- Rule Development – The commission will consider adoption of the following rule amendments: Beach Bulldozing General Permit, Marsh Sill General Permit, and Coastal Wetlands. The commission will also discuss potential amendments to its sandbag rules and policies.
- Science Panel – The commission will consider a scope of work for its Science Panel to update Inlet Hazard Areas.
- Coastal Environment – The commission will hear a presentation of groundwater resources and related issues in coastal North Carolina.
- State Ports – The commission will hear a presentation on management issues at the state’s ports.
The Coastal Resources Advisory Council, a group that advises the Coastal Resources Commission, will meet at 10:00 a.m. July 12 at the NOAA/NERR Administration Building Auditorium.
