State officials are postponing a grants workshop scheduled for Sept. 27 in Plymouth due to the travel restrictions imposed on state employees following a fuel leak in Alabama.
The purpose of the workshop was to share information with local governments about grant opportunities in order to acquire land and make improvements to beach and waterfront access, parks, and boating facilities.
The workshop was scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the Vernon G. James Research & Extension Center, 207 Research Station Road in Plymouth. Workshop organizers are working with the meeting facility and speakers to reschedule the event.
A second workshop is currently still scheduled and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the New Hanover County Government Complex’s Human Resources Building, 230 Government Center Dr., Room 135 in Wilmington.
