The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission will meet April 26-27 in Manteo to discuss issues such as the living shoreline general permit, a land use plan for Perquimans County, and repairing and protecting dunes.
The meeting will start at 1 p.m. April 26 at the Dare County Government Complex, 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo. The meeting is open to the public.
Items on the commission’s agenda include:
- Variance – The commission will hear one request for a variance from its rules.
- Coastal Reserves – The commission will hear a presentation on the North Carolina National Estuarine Research Reserve Management plan.
- Land Use Planning – The commission will hear presentations on an amendment to the land use plan for Perquimans County and adoption of a new rule in the Planning and Management Grants program.
- Estuarine Shoreline Management – The commission will hear an update on the development of the living shoreline general permit.
- Beach and Inlet Management – The commission will hear presentations on the sampling methodology for sediment criteria and consider approval of the Figure Eight Island development line.
- Other Various Coastal Issues – The commission will hear a presentation on dune protection, restoration and repair.
The Coastal Resources Advisory Council, a group that advises the Coastal Resources Commission, will meet at 10 a.m. April 26 at the Dare County Government Complex, 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo.
