State coastal commission’s science panel to meet May 3 in New Bern

The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission’s Science Panel will meet May 3 in New Bern to review inlet shoreline change rates and draft updated inlet hazard areas.

The panel will meet at 10 a.m. in the in the Bosch and Seimens AMC Building, Room 102 at Craven County Community College, 800 College Court, New Bern. The meeting is open to the public. Oral and written comments will be accepted at the meeting.

The panel provides scientific advice to the state’s Coastal Resources Commission. It was created by the commission in 1997, and is composed of coastal engineers and geologists.
