The State Water Infrastructure Authority and the N.C. Division of Water Infrastructure are seeking public comment on proposed changes to water infrastructure funding programs.
Proposed changes affect the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, Drinking Water State Revolve Fund, Community Development Block Grant for Infrastructure and state-funded programs, including State Reserve Projects and Asset Inventory and Assessment Grants.
Interested parties are invited to provide comments that reflect support for changes, suggestions to changes or areas of concern. Written comments will be accepted until June 26 at 5 p.m. and should be sent to: Cathy Akroyd, N.C. DEQ, Division of Water Infrastructure, 1633 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C., 27699-1633.
The Authority will discuss proposed changes to funding at its July 18 meeting. Depending on actions by the Authority, changes to the State Revolving Funds, State Reserve Projects and Asset Inventory and Assessment Grants will be implemented in the September 2018 funding round. Changes approved by the Authority for the Community Development Block Grant for Infrastructure will be implemented in the September 2019 funding round.
