DEQ seeking input on development of community mapping tool; second of three stakeholder meetings to be held Feb. 6

RALEIGH – The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality is hosting a stakeholder meeting Feb. 6 at the Forsyth Technical Community College from 6 to 8 p.m. to gather input on the design of the North Carolina Community Mapping Tool.

This is the second of three meetings held across North Carolina. Specific details will be provided for the last meeting to be held in Western North Carolina.

This tool will be used to provide additional information layers to assist with departmental decisions with respect to permit development and implementation in North Carolina; provide a service for DEQ to increase local public participation; and highlight the work North Carolinians are doing to address environmental justice statewide.
