Public Hearing on Cape Fear Coal Ash Beneficiation to be held on April 23

<p>The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality&rsquo;s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) will host a public meeting and public hearing Tuesday, April 23, on the proposed coal ash beneficiation project at the Duke Energy Progress, LLC former Cape Fear Power Station. The hearing will be held in the Chatham County Agriculture &amp; Conference Center in Pittsboro.</p>

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) will host a public meeting and public hearing Tuesday, April 23, on the proposed coal ash beneficiation project at the Duke Energy Progress, LLC former Cape Fear Power Station. The hearing will be held in the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center in Pittsboro.

The public is invited to provide feedback on the draft permit for the construction of a fly ash processing facility at the site located in Moncure. The public comment period begins today and remains open until April 26, 2019.
