The N.C. Environmental Management Commission (EMC) will meet November 13 and 14 at the Archdale Building, 512 N. Salisbury Street in Raleigh. Committees of the commission will meet Wednesday, November 13, with the full commission meeting Thursday, November 14. All of the meetings will be held in the Ground Floor Hearing Room.
Topics to be discussed include a request to proceed to public hearing for rule revisions regarding construction and demolition debris landfill facilities and requirements for municipal solid waste facilities, as well as a petition for declaratory ruling by AVX Corporation regarding the applicability of waste management rules. Other items include a request for approval of the 2020 303d listing and delisting methodology, an annual report on the Neuse and Tam-Pamlico agricultural rules and a groundwater variance report from the city of Raleigh. The Environmental Management Commission is responsible for adopting rules for the protection, preservation and enhancement of the state’s air, land and water resources. The commission oversees and adopts rules for several divisions of the Department of Environmental Quality, including the divisions of Air Quality; Energy, Mineral and Land Resources; Waste Management and Water Resources.
