The State Water Infrastructure Authority will meet via conference call at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The public may listen to the call at the Archdale Building in downtown Raleigh. An opportunity for informal comment from the public will be provided.

ACTION ITEM:

Draft priorities for funding made available through the federal Additional Supplemental Appropriations for the Disaster Relief Act, 2019 (ASADRA)

North Carolina will have an additional $105 million in funding as a result of ASADRA, through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) programs.  This funding is restricted to facilities impacted by either Hurricane Florence or Hurricane Michael.  Types of projects include moving water infrastructure facilities out of the floodplain, making facilities more resilient in future storm events, establishing redundancy to ensure operation during an event such as installation of backup generators, and setting up stormwater controls to reduce flooding. The Division of Water Infrastructure will make the Intended Use Plans for the CWSRF and the DWSRF programs available for public review once draft priorities are approved by the State Water Infrastructure Authority.
