The Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources has approved authorizations for a development project proposed by Chatham Park Investors LLC and associated transportation construction project proposed by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
After considering the comments raised during the public participation process, DWR approved the following:
- Isolated and Non-404 Jurisdictional Wetlands Permit# IWP000007
- Individual 401 Water Quality Certification No. WQC004228
- Jordan Lake Riparian Buffer Impacts application.
Chatham Park North Village is a mixed-use commercial, retail, office, institutional and medical development, and includes recreation corridor, river park and public park lands. Chatham Park Way North (R-5930) is a 2.7-mile new section of Chatham Park Way to provide connection from US 64 Bypass to US 15-501.
A public hearing was held on January 7, 2021 and concerns presented were addressed as noted in the Hearing’s Officer Report. Documents related to this project may be reviewed here.
