The Division of Air Quality is accepting public comment on a draft air quality permit modification for Columbia Plywood Corporation - Columbia Carolina Division, a plywood manufacturing facility in McDowell County.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources (DWR) is awarding more than $9.39 million for five projects in coastal North Carolina for beach and dune renourishment. 

An advisory against swimming was posted today at a sound-side site in Dare County, where state recreational water quality officials found bacteria levels in the water that exceed the state’s and Environmental Protection Agency’s recreational water quality standards.
