The recreational black sea bass fishing season will open Feb. 1 in federal and North Carolina waters north of Cape Hatteras.

RE: Secretary Regan’s comments on the Revised Waters of the United States (“WOTUS”) Rule

The N.C. Coastal Resource Commission is extending the public comment period until March 2 for proposed rulemaking intended to update Inland Hazard Area boundaries and associated development rules, including 15A NCAC 07H .0304, 7H .0306, 7H .0309, and 7H .0310. The original comment period began on Dec. 2 and was scheduled to end on Jan. 31.

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing on proposed shellfish leases in Carteret County on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. at the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries Central District Office, 5285 U.S. 70 West, Morehead City.
