Water Quality Utilities, Inc. has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0050610 for The Ponds WWTP in Watauga County. This permitted facility discharges treated domestic wastewater to the Watauga River in the Watauga River Basin. Currently, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS) and ammonia are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the watershed.
