Commuter Options
Save money, relieve stress, and reduce pollution. Alternative transportation methods like walking, biking, carpooling, vanpooling, or riding the bus can take away the pressure of your daily commute as well as reduce the air pollution in your city. Car and trucks release harmful air pollution and are the largest contributor to ground-level ozone pollution in North Carolina. By using less fuel on a daily basis, you can reduce the amount of ozone pollution in your area.
Benefits of alternative commuting include: saving money, reduced stress, reducing wear on your personal vehicle, and the opportunity to meet new people. Your employer may even offer incentive programs for employees who use alternative transit on their commute to and from work.
