Multifamily Recycling
Approximately 1 in 5 North Carolinians live in multifamily residential units and many do not have convenient access to recycling. DEACS is encouraging the expansion of recycling services to multifamily properties to provide equitable access, meet resident demand, and redirect more recyclable material back into the circular economy.
Grant funding is available to help local governments, recycling haulers, multifamily property owners or management companies start or expand recycling services at multifamily residences.
DEACS also offers ready-made educational materials to inform residents about the recycling program.
